Coaches praised Cansino after playing with flu
University of Santo Tomas rookie CJ Cansino was praised by both Adamson head coach Franz Pumaren and Growling Tigers chief tactician Aldin Ayo.
Cansino admitted that even before the game, he was not feeling well.
Ayo previously stated that he was expecting the performance of Cansino, even if he is still a rookie.
In his 25 minutes playing, Cansino scored 18 points in 47% efficiency and five rebounds.
Pumaren, meanwhile, admitted that Cansino could be a better all-around player in the future.
“I don’t think he’ll be an MVP in the UAAP [juniors] for nothing. With proper guidance, he’ll be a better all around player,” said Pumaren.
Cansino holds the record of most scored of a rookie in a debut match, after scoring 20 points in UST’s match against NU.
