Ice in his veins: Matt Nieto silences host Chinese Taipei with game-winner

A dagger was sent flying thru the hearts of Chinese Taipei squad and supporters as Matt Nieto punctured a cold-blooded three to escape with a win in front of hostile crowd, 77-76, Saturday evening in Taiwan.

3.1 seconds left in a critical juncture, Chinese Taipei national team was up via slim margin, 76-74, with possession on the side of Ateneo Pilipinas.

Ateneo star Thirdy Ravena was tasked to inbound the ball, finds Matt Nieto in the left wing and without hesitation, shot a three-ball in front of the outstretched arm of a Taiwanese defender.

The moment it went in, the whole arena knew it was over.

Nieto was brilliant throughout the game, scoring 13 points on three makes in rainbow country. William Navarro flirted with double-double posting 11 points and 9 rebounds.
