Mico Halili bids goodbye to CNN Sports Desk
Sports journalist and basketball guru Mico Halili is saying goodbye to one of the best, if not he best, sports show in the country, CNN Philippines Sports Desk.
In an Instagram post, Halili said goodbye to his young and fun crew at CNN Philippines where he spent the last two years and nine months: “Thankful to have worked with incredible people. Thankful to have learned from amazing friends. Time flies like a Golden State Warriors fastbreak when you’re having fun. Maraming Maraming Salamat Guys!”
Halili did not say what’s next in his broadcasting career although he’s been sharing his basketball geekiness as lead anchor of ABS-CBN’s coverage of the UAAP games.
But in a recent Twitter Q&A, Halili was asked if he planned on returning to the PBA where he used to a play-by-play commentator for a generation of basketball fans from 2003 to 2015.
And this was his reply: “Maybe in the distant future, opportunities might bring me back to the PBA, who knows.”
1. Is there any chance na bumalik ka sa PBA?
2. Pinaka sikat na local athlete ngayon? Both mens & womens?

Fastbreak previously reported how Beerman Arwind Santos put both Halili and co-host TJ Monotoc on the spot when he asked when the duo would take over the broadcast booth of the PBA. They just laughed and Santos was cut on air.
