Netizens rue James Yap benching amidst hot-shooting on crucial stretch
By Mark Patriarca
Our friends from social media are asking what was in coach Caloy Garcia’s mind that he let a surging James Yap sit on the bench during the whole of fourth quarter of the Rain or Shine-GlobalPort quarterfinals clash.
The two-time MVP was going ballistic, finishing the first half with double-figures with 12 points on an efficient shooting clip. But looks like ROS coach Caloy Garcia was not convinced.
After adding 4 markers in the third, Yap didn’t even get to see an action in the 4th. Rain or Shine who led by 16 and eight points entering the final canto, and ultimately let the win slip thru the heroics of GlobalPort guard Jonathan Grey, 114-113.
Yap finished the game with 16 points in 6 out of 8 shooting compared to Norwood who played most of the 4th with 9 markers with only three made shots on eight tries and fellow guard Maverick Ahanmisi who played for almost 40 minutes but still scored less points than Yap with 15.
See how Twitterverse exploded with the said happening:

Wag mo sabihing for defensive purposes ah.
