‘Act Like A Winner’ Mark Nonoy

No one could ever bring Mark Nonoy’s confidence down.

Just take a good look at his highlights, and you’ll see how good the 5-foot-8 Nonoy is on the court.

This one was way too filthy!

Nonoy only proved that he is deserving to be the recipient of this year’s Rookie of the Year award.

Even though the shifty guard is still a rookie, he was able to step up for UST Growling Tigers in a must-win stepladder game against UP on Sunday.

“Kami willing to accept kung ano pinapaggawa ni coach (Aldin Ayo). Yun sabi niya sa roles namin, sinusunod lang namin roles namin,” said Nonoy who registered 16 points and four assists in UST’s 89-69 victory over UP to force a do-or-die series on Wednesday.

“Ginagawa niya lang yung pinapagawa ni Coach Aldin sa akin, and wala naman akong against doon kasi yung tinuturo niya sa akin makakatulong talaga sa akin, hindi lang sa ngayon papunta sa PBA.”

Second year Tigers mentor Aldin Ayo has always told the former UAAP Juniors MVP to make plays for the team more often rather than look for his own shots.

However, he still has a green light to shoot whenever the defense allows him to do so.

“May go signal naman ako kay Coach (Aldin) eh, kasi sabi niya kapag open, tira lang,” Nonoy shared.

The reason why Nonoy plays so confidently? It’s because he “acts and trains” like a winner.

“Training pa lang, doon na kami nag-practice how to act like a winner and practice like a winner.”
