Actor Ronnie Alonte to suit up for Biñan Tatak Gel in MPBL

Kapamilya actor Ronnie Alonte is set to suit up for the Biñan Tatak Gel Beast Motorcycle Tires GameX squad in the upcoming Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League season later this month.

Alonte’s participation in the squad was first reported by the Basketball Zone Facebook page and confirmed in a social media post by Biñan team official Monching Talisayon on Wednesday night.

“Madadagdagan nanaman gwapo sa Biñan Tatak Gel Beast Motorcycle tires GameX Vice Mayor GEL Alonte Ronnie Alonte Gel Alonte ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️,” Talisayan wrote in a Facebook post.

Alonte is no stranger to basketball leagues, as he was a former varsity player for the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta Altas Laguna campus before he became an actor on ABS-CBN.

The 27-year-old actor is the nephew of Biñan Tatak Gel team owner and the city’s Vice Mayor, Gel Alonte.

Ronnie will have powerhouse teammates at Biñan Tatak Gel, led by ex-PBA players Jean Marc Pingris, Anthony Helterbrand, Mark Cardona, Rommel Niño Cañaleta, and Carlo Lastimosa.

The 5-foot-10 is the latest ABS-CBN actor to play in the MPBL, aside from Gerald Anderson (Marikina Shoemasters), Young JV Kapunan (Iloilo United Royals), and Xian Lim (previously of Mandaluyong El Tigre).
