Adamson’s 4th quarter rally pick-apart NU
The Soaring Falcons finally got their groove at the expense of NU Bulldogs in a 72-53 beatdown in the UAAP Season 82 men’s basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday October 12.
Adamson was only limited to just eight points in the opening frame, but they still forced NU to engage in a nip-and-tuck game matchup until the second half.
NU still had 47-44 advantage with 1:22 remaining in the third canto when Adamson sparked a huge 25-6 blitz bridging the third and fourth quarters.
AP Manlapaz led Adamson’s run by scoring 10 points in the final period, and he would also provide the finishing touches of the game with his lay-up, 72-53.
The San Marcelino-based squad finally went back to their winning ways after snapping their four-game losing skid, while also improving their standings at 4-6.
“This is just a small step on our part for us to make sure we will be there until the end,” Adamson head coach Franz Pumaren said.
Jerrick Ahanmisi led the Falcons with 15 points, while Manlapaz finished the matchup with 14 markers and four rebounds.
Sinon Camacho went to work as well with 13 points and six rebounds, while Lenda Douanga posted 11 markers and 15 boards.
NU failed to follow-up their momentous win against FEU on Wednesday, collapsing at the bottom of the standing with 2-8 record.
Dave Ildefonso paced the Bulldogs with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Issa Gaye collected 14 markers and 10 boards.
