AirAsia to replace GlobalPort in PBA?
By Mark Patriarca
It looks like the Neon Green nation will have to change their color to red.
On a video blog by known sports personality Snow Badua, AirAsia is rumored to replace GlobalPort Batang Pier in the PBA for the coming conference.
GlobalPort team owner Mikee Romero is known to have strong ties with the Malaysian-based airline company.
To make it more plausible, when Romero joined Asean Basketball League back in 2009, his team Philippine Patriot was sponsored by AirAsia for three years.
Even GlobalPort’s alternate governor Eric Arejola is affiliated with the top low-cost airline in Southeast Asia.
If it happens, it will be the first time that GlobalPort would change name ever since they joined the league back in 2012.
