Almazan’s absences in Gilas sessions based on valid reasons, Caloy Garcia assures
Rain or Shine Elasto Painters coach Caloy Garcia assured that there isn’t any issue regarding Raymond Almazan, who missed his second straight Gilas Pilipinas practice this week.
Garcia, who is also among national team head coach Yeng Guiao’s deputy, revealed that the 6-foot-8 forward is actually sick last Tuesday.
Almazan also needed to renew his Games and Amusement Board license, making him unavailable for Gilas’ practice on Thursday, Garcia added.
“Tuesday, talagang may lagnat siya. Today (Thursday) he was supposed to come, but the problem was late siya sinabihan na he has to go to GAB for his medical… Basta something with medical thing,” Garcia said.
Garcia said that Almazan had to give his utmost attention to the license renewal, as failure to do so will bar him from playing in the Elasto Painters’ 2019 PBA Philippine Cup match versus the NorthPort Batang Pier this Friday night.
