Alyssa’s aces sink Tacloban Fighting Warays

Creamline Cool Smashers leaned on team captain Alyssa Valdez to subdue a hard-fighting Tacloban Fighting Warays, 25-14, 27-25, 26-24 in the PVL Reinforced Conference at Batangas Sports Complex.
Valdez scored 22 points, including eight crucial aces, to turn back Tacloban’s big fight back in the second and third sets after a slow start in the opening frame.
The Fighting Warays appeared on the way to extend the match after leading 23-21 in the third set. But three straight service aces by Valdez gave the lead for the Cool Smashers.
Fighting Warays’ skipper Jovielyn Prado came up with a kill to stop the bleeding for Tacloban.
With the momentum on their side, Creamline scored two successive to wrap up the set and the match.
Kuttila Kaewpin added 16 points for Creamline which notched its fourth win in five games.
Amporn Hyapha led Tacloban with 15 points while Prado contributed 11.
With the loss, the Fighting Warays fell to 2-3 win loss card.
