Amer steers Meralco to 26-point win over Alaska


Baser Amer led the way for the Meralco Bolts en route to a dominant 101-75 win over the struggling Alaska Aces in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup Friday at SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

Amer drilled 4 treys in the third quarter as he spearheaded the Bolts’ furious rally that broke the game wide open, 62-46, with 5:51 left in the said frame that started the romp.

Amer finished with 27 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in the win that avenged Meralco’s loss to NLEX and improved its card to 2-1.

Allen Durham was also his usual self with 25 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assists while Raymond Almazan added 15 points in one of his best games with his new team.

Chris Banchero and Simon Enciso top scored for Alaska with 12 points each as new import Franko House failed to impress in his debut, scoring just to 8 points with 11 rebounds.
