Andre Iguodala’s brief stint with the Miami Heat allowed him to see a similarity between the mindsets of Jimmy Butler and Kobe Bryant.
During an interview with Gilbert Arenas, Iguodala said that Butler’s will to win is comparable to that of Bryant’s.
“He’s probably the closest that I’ve seen to Kobe Bryant with that mentality of just man; Jimmy will figure out a way for us to win. I’ve never seen a will like that,” Iguodala said.
Iguodala played with the Heat from 2020 to 2021, and he was part of the squad that reached the bubble finals. Butler played exceptionally well during that playoff run.
Meanwhile, Bryant was known to have a “Mamba Mentality.” He explained this type of mindset during his 2016 Mamba Mentality Tour.
“To sum up what mamba mentality is, it means to be able to constantly try to be the best version of yourself,” Bryant said. “That is what the mentality is. It’s a constant quest to try to be better today than you were yesterday.” (MJD)
