FARM Fresh Foxies overcame an early struggle and pulled away in the deciding sets to beat Capital1 Solar Spikers 20-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-12, 15-10, on Saturday in the PVL On Tour at Victorias City Coliseum in Negros Occidental.
The victory gave the Foxies a winning finish to their provincial campaign, as they ended the tour with a 2-1 record.
Farm Fresh faced another setback after dropping the third set but responded emphatically in the fourth. The Foxies seized control behind a strong all-around effort from Victonara Galang, who helped ignite a 16-6 advantage with attacks, blocks and service aces.
Farm Fresh then maintained its momentum in the fifth set to secure the victory in the first five-set match of this year’s On Tour.
Galang finished with 14 points and said she focused on contributing in whatever way she could.
“Yun mindset lang is maka contribute sa team, gagawin ko kugg ano yung makakaya ko para makapag impact sa team, and thankful naamn at nanalo kami,” Galang said.
Farm Fresh will now turn its attention to the PVL Invitational Conference, which opens on August 31 at Smart Araneta Coliseum. (Adrian Co)
