Arellano survive San Sebastian behind scoring duo Jalalon, Salado
It was a tough battle for Arellano Chiefs but scoring duo Jiovanni Jalalon and Kent Salado is there to rescue the team.
The ‘Bus Driver’ Jalalon dropped double-double while ‘the Conductor’ Salado knocked down a clutch trey to lift Arellano past San Sebastian, 89-84, in the ongoing NCAA Men’s Basketball tourney.
Jalalon punched in 33 points and 10 assists despite hitting his head on the floor after a layup in the third quarter.
Salado, on the other hand, chipped in 11 markers including a big trey that broke the 77-77 deadlock in the last three minutes of the fourth frame.
The victory put the Chiefs on second place of the standings with an 8-2 record.
Ryan Costelo top scored for the Stags which dropped their ninth game in ten outings.
