Arnold Van Opstal clears his stand against homophobia

GlobalPort Arnold Van Opstal stood up for his belief on how he felt about LGBTQ+ after being asked by a fan on Instagram if he’s gay.

The Batang Pier center explained that his brother is gay, however, he is straight. He also commented that the whole labelling of sexuality is a joke.

“Preferences are preferences, love is love and everyone deserves to be their own authentic selves without having to fear the judgement of others,” said the cager.

AVO also pointed out that the feeling of athletes not doing enough to address homophobia are mostly due to the fear of judgments:

“Equality comes from all aspects not just race and I’m happy to stand up for equality,”
