Northport sharpshooter Arvin Tolentino said that he has no hard feelings for his non-inclusion in the 21-man Gilas pool for the FIBA World Cup.
According to a Spin.ph report, Tolentino acknowledged that while he anticipated being part of the Gilas pool, he was also prepared to accept the possibility of not being selected for the team.
“To be honest, I was expecting (a call), but prepared din naman ako kung hindi ako nakasama,” Tolentino said.
“Wala akong sama ng loob,” he continued.
Tolentino was a part of the Gilas team that represented the country in the Southeast Asian Games last month. He played a vital role in helping the team reclaim the gold medal at the biennial meet.
The 27-year-old wingman respects the decision of coach Chot Reyes and his coaching staff in choosing the players for the Gilas pool.
“I fully trust coach Chot and the management. They’re the ones who know the best for the team, for the country,” he added. “I’m sure kahit sino ang ilagay ni coach Chot diyan, ibibigay naman nila yung best nila.” (MJD)
