Ateneo Blue Eagles rises high over Falcons
Ateneo just proved that they are still the top dog in the league.
The Blue Eagles just annihilated the Adamson Soarng Falcons, 70-52, n the triple-header opening of UAAP Season 82 men’s basketball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum, on Wednesday September 4.
The Soaring Falcons gave the defending champion a late scare in late period, as Val Chauca and Jerrick Ahanmisi cut down the lead by as much as five points, 52-57, within the last five minutes on the clock.
The UAAP Season 82 host team would bring out their championship poise, as they unleashed 13 unanswered points to end it all, 70-52.
Ange Kouame had a spectacular outing for the Blue Eagles with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
“We knew that Adamson’s gonna be tough. It’s the last team I really wanted to see in the first game,” said Ateneo head coach Tab Baldwin.
Matt Nieto chipped 14 points while Thirdy Ravena had a double-double of 10 markers and 13 rebounds.
Chauca made his presence known for Adamson with 17 points and four rebounds, while Ahanmisi was only limited to just seven points on 3-of-12 shooting clip.
