Ayaw masira ang moment! Caloy Yulo says he will not invite parents in planned wedding with Chloe San Jose

TWO-TIME Olympic champion Carlos Edriel Yulo said he would not invite his parents to his planned wedding with Chloe San Jose, saying he wants the occasion to remain solely about the couple.

Asked by Karen Davila whether he would want his parents, Angelica and Mark Andrew Yulo, to attend if he and San Jose eventually marry, Yulo made clear that he would rather keep the celebration intimate.

“Kasal po namin ‘yun and relationship po namin ‘yun and mas pipiliin kong kami na lang. Ayaw ko din masira ‘yung moment namin para sa amin dapat dalawa. Ayaw ko ‘yun mamantsahan pa, and marami na din silang ginawa na pinatawad ko na. And hanggang d’un na lang din po,” Carlos said.

“So ahm, hindi po. Gusto ko sa amin lang po iyun and I really wanted to be really full of love and joy kapag nangyari po iyun,” he added.

Yulo has been estranged from his parents since his 2024 Paris Olympics campaign, where he made history by winning gold medals in the men’s floor exercise and vault.

The family rift became public following the Olympics and has remained unresolved despite Yulo saying he has forgiven his parents.

His latest comments indicate that forgiveness does not necessarily mean bringing them back into major personal milestones, with Yulo choosing to protect what he described as a special moment for himself and San Jose.

Yulo is currently preparing for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan where he will compete alongside his younger brother, Karl Eldrew Yulo, as part of the Philippine artistic gymnastics team. (Adrian Co)
