Bahadoran to miss Azkals game vs Yemen; out indefinitely due to shoulder injury

Philippine Azkals’ midfielder and Global Cebu FC skipper Misagh Bahadoran is set to miss the 2019 Asian Cup Qualifying game against Yemen set in Doha, Qatar next month.

Bahadoran says he will miss at least month to recover from a dislocated acromioclavicular joint he suffered after Junior Muñoz accidentally landed on his shoulder in Global Cebu’s game against Ceres Negros FC yesterday in Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.

Bahadoran, who just returned from surgery to remove bone spurs from his foot, expressed disappointment on the injury.

“I’m quite upset because I was physically so ready and in good condition then this injury happened. But this is football. I will come back stronger as always,” Bahadoran said.

Despite this Bahadoran remained optimistic his absence in the game against Yemen on October 10 will not dampen the Azkals’ chances of getting a good result.

“There are so many good players in the Azkals’ lineup who can take my place. The team can be expected to do a better job against Yemen,” he said.

Bahadoran says he will meet with an Asian Football Confederation doctor who will assess the extent of his injury on Thursday. He is confident that he will recover soon from the “minor” setback.

“I hope all the supporters of the Philippine Azkals and Global Cebu FC will pray for my recovery,” Bahadoran added.
