Banged-up Alab Pilipinas gets 30-point beating from Macau
Undermanned San Miguel Alab Pilipinas succumbed to an 84-114 defeat at the hands of a vengeful Macau Black Bears Friday night in the ASEAN Basketball League at the Foshan International Sports and Cultural Center.
Alab found it hard to match against the scoring machines of the Black Bears in Mikh McKinney and Dewarick Spencer as they missed the services of Lawrence Domingo and Renaldo Balkman due to injuries.
McKinney had 43 points while Spencer shot 42 points.
Pueto Rican reinforcement PJ Ramos was the lone bright spot for the Philippine side with 24 points.
Bobby Ray Parks, meanwhile, struggled to find his shooting touch as he needed 14 shots to chalk up 12 points.
With the loss, Alab dropped back-to-back games for the first time in their title defense campaign and slid to 18-6 in the standings.
The 30-point beatdown is also the Philippine club’s worst loss in the season to date.
