Bernadeth Pons eager to show wares in Asian Games beach volley debut

ALAS Pilipinas women’s beach volleyball member Bernadeth Pons is determined to make the most of her first Asian Games appearance with Cherry Rondina as they continue their preparations for the continental competition.

Pons said the duo is maintaining its training regimen with their departure for the Asian Games approaching, with the pair focused on carrying their preparations into every match.

“We’re continuing our preparation because we’re leaving next week for the Asian Games. Of course, we expect to give our best in every game,” Pons said.

The upcoming Asiad will be a significant milestone for both Pons and Rondina, who will be making their debuts in the quadrennial event.

“It’s a really big opportunity for us,” Pons said.

Pons added that she and Rondina have been eagerly anticipating the chance to compete on the Asian Games stage and are determined to showcase everything they have worked on during training.

“Sisi and I are playing in the Asian Games for the first time. We’ve really been looking forward to the Asian Games. We’re going to give everything we have,” she said.

“Everything we’ve learned, everything we’ve practiced, we’re going to show it.”

With the pair entering the competition as first-time Asian Games participants, Pons said they intend to approach the tournament with maximum effort and use the opportunity to pursue a strong finish for the Philippines. (Adrian Co)
