Big 3-less Iran arrives in PH to face Gilas in a scrimmage
Without their three key players, the Iran National Basketball Team arrived in the Philippines last night to conduct the scheduled two-day scrimmage against Gilas Pilipinas.
Iran came to the Philippines without their offensive pillars such as 7-foot-2 center Hamed Haddadi, guard Mehdi Kamrani and forward Samad Nikkhah Bahrami.
Iran will play Gilas in a closed-door match on Tuesday at Hoops Center, Mandaluyong City while an open to public tune-up game will be held on Wednesday at Araneta Coliseum.
Meanwhile, Iran head coach Dirk Bauermann revealed last May that Haddadi will still play for their national team in FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament but four other veterans will no longer be part of their roster. These veterans were Kamrani, Bahrami, Hamed Afagh and Javad Davari.
