Blatche in play as import in PBA Commissioner’s Cup?
By Miles Morales
The PBA board of governors will decide on Friday the training period the league will lent the World Cup-bound Gilas Pilipinas and whether Andray Blatche is to be allowed to play as import in the upcoming PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
The matters have been raised to the PBA top honchos in a welcome lunch hosted by Manny V. Pangilinan to the Nationals, fresh from their successful run in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
The marching order now for the Nationals is to at least make the second round of the World Championships in China.
Gilas coach Yeng Guiao has expressed his wish that they be allowed to compete in the coming Jones Cup. It would serve as their training tourney for the World Cup.
Guiao also hopes that they can start training as early as April.
