Bolts edge out Magnolia to keep playoff bid alive

The Meralco Bolts pull out a stunning victory against Magnolia Hotshots, 94-88, in 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup, on Friday at the Ynares Center.

Magnolia survived a nip-and-tuck contest by sealing five of their six free shots in the final minute of the matchup.

With that win, the Bolts improved to 3-6 record which boost their chance to sneak their way into the playoffs.

Allen Durham powered Meralco with 20 points, 17 rebounds, and 8 assists. Baser Amer led the locals with 16 points, while Reynel Hugnatan contributed 15 markers.

Magnolia dropped to 7-2 after enjoying their five-game winning streak, although they share the top spot with Barangay Ginebra with an identical slate.

Travis paced Magnolia with a 25 points and 19 rebounds, while Paul Lee and Ian Sanggalang had 12 apiece.
