Boston Celtics Halts Streaking Denver Nuggets
Boston Celtics used a strong second half run to take down Denver Nuggets, 105-87, in the 2020-2021 NBA Season on Sunday night (Monday in the Philippines) at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.
Trailing 79-65 in the third quarter after a three-pointer by Nuggets’ Facundo Campazzo, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown fueled a huge 15-0 run to take an 80-79 lead on free throws by Romeo Langford.
Tatum then unloaded Boston’s 12 of the next 16 points as the lead grew to 96-84 before Brown, Robert Williams and Aaron Nesmith put on the finishing touches for the Celtics.
Tatum finished the match with 28 points to go along with 10 rebounds, while Brown added 20 markers, eight boards and two blocks as the Celtics hiked its record to 28-26.
Kemba Walker and Marcus Smart each had 14 points, while Williams contributed 10 points and eight rebounds for the Celtics, which have won five of its last six matches.
Michael Porter Jr. finished with 20 points, while Nikola Jokić had triple-double 17 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds as the Nuggets dropped to 34-19 slate.
