Boysen helps bring Alex Eala mural to life at famed Taguig Tenement Court

A new mural celebrating Filipina tennis star Alexandra Eala now stands at the iconic Fort Bonifacio Tenement in Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig City, with Boysen Paints Philippines of Bilyonaryo Justin Ongsue playing a key role in bringing the tribute to life.

The mural was created in honor of Eala’s historic rise to No. 18 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings, making her the highest-ranked Filipino and Southeast Asian player in WTA singles history.

Boysen Paints Philippines supported the project by providing the paints used for the artwork, along with the help from Tenement Visual Artists, Tahanan Inc., and BPI.

Adrian Pinon, a new artist from the Tenement community who was introduced to the group through the project, also took part in creating the mural. Pinon is among the young artists living at the 63-year-old housing complex who are using their work to contribute to the community.

The initiative reflects the growing role of the 63-year-old Tenement’s basketball court as a community space where sports, art and Filipino pride come together.

The colorful mural features Eala in her tennis gear, racket in hand, celebrating her breakthrough achievements on the international stage.

The new Eala mural adds another celebrated athlete to the landmark venue while giving residents a lasting tribute to one of the Philippines’ most successful young athletes.

Eala, 21, has enjoyed a breakthrough 2026 season, highlighted by her first WTA 500 singles title in Washington and her subsequent entry into the world’s top 20.

Her rise to No. 18 has further cemented her place in Philippine tennis history, with the Tenement mural now serving as a colorful reminder of her achievements and the support of Filipinos behind her journey.

As Eala continues her campaign at the US Open, the mural stands in Taguig as a symbol of Filipino pride and a message of encouragement for the young tennis star.
