Brownlee’s 44-point effort enough to lift Ginebra over Rain or Shine’s comeback

By Mark Patriarca

At one point, Ginebra looked like they would breeze past Rain or Shine with a 25-point lead early in the game, but in a blink of an eye, it was only down to two in the last seconds of a crucial stretch.

Ginebra was holding a twenty point advantage at the start of the final canto, 61-41, but an unprecedented run awaited them with Elastopainters unleashing a 9-1 blast at the last minute to bring the lead down to a precarious two-point advantage.

But of course, Ginebra’s resident import Justin Brownlee was the guy they would always rely on as he keeps the Kings at bay throughout the whole Rain or Shine rally and preserved a three-point lead at the end of the match, 75-72.

Brownlee finished the game with a stellar stat-line of 44 points, 15 rebounds, six steals and five steals while point guard L.A Tenorio was the lone local in double-figures scoring with 13.
