Caitlin Clark on Pacers’ blowout win: ‘I felt bad for the Cavs’

The Indiana Pacers dominated the Cleveland Cavaliers so thoroughly in Sunday’s Game 4 of their second-round playoff series that even one of their most famous fans admitted feeling sympathy for the opposition, according to Bleacher Report’s Scott Polacek.

“It was just one of those nights where you literally could not miss,” Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark said in a postgame interview with Pacers radio host Eddie White (via Scott Agness of Fieldhouse Files).

“It was Aaron (Nesmith). It was Myles (Turner). It was Pascal (Siakam). It was just one to the next. And it was really, really fun to watch. I felt, honestly, just bad for the Cavs at one point. But, man, that was some good basketball.”

Clark, a regular at Pacers playoff games during their current run, watched the game courtside with teammate Aliyah Boston as Indiana rolled to a 129–109 victory.

Despite the 20-point final margin, the game was never close. The Pacers exploded to a jaw-dropping 80–39 halftime lead and coasted through the second half, with both teams eventually clearing their benches.

Indiana had seven players score in double figures and shot 42.9 percent from three-point range, hitting 15 of 35 from beyond the arc. The victory gave them a commanding 3–1 series lead.

Adding to Cleveland’s woes, All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell did not play in the second half after appearing to injure his ankle during halftime warmups. The Cavaliers are already facing a 3–1 deficit and are dealing with additional injuries to key players, including Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and De’Andre Hunter, all of whom missed Game 2 and may still be hampered.

While Clark admitted to feeling a twinge of sympathy for the Cavaliers, she remains fully behind the Pacers’ playoff push.

With just one more win, Indiana is on the verge of returning to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second straight season.
