San Sebastian relied on a foul shot by Michael Calisaan and a nullified basket by Justin Gutang late as it eked out a 66-65 cliffhanger in the 94th NCAA basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.

After Calisaan made the first free throw and missed the second to give the Stags a one-point edge, Gutang looked to have hit the buzzer-beating, game-winning shot.

But after repeated reviews and using different video replay angles, game officials negated the shot as the ball was still in Gutang’s fingers when time ended.

The Blazers, through captain Yankie Haruna, later put the game under protest.

CSB fell to 7-4.
