Caloy Garcia says lack of team play gave ROS back-to-back losses
By Miles Morales
A frustrated Rain or Shine coach Caloy Garcia said his squad have forgotten the word “team play” after the Elasto Painters suffered another embarrassing defeat against Columbian on Wednesday night.
The 85-82 loss against the Dyip was the second straight for the skidding Rain or Shine in a span of just four days since the PBA Philippine Cup resumed action after a two-week break.
“Medyo after the long break sabi ko sa kanila nag-iba na yung ugali nila, parang naging selfish-minded sila,” Garcia said after the defeat.
The last time ROS defeated the perennial cellar dweller Dyip was in the 2017 Governors’ Cup. Since then, they are 0-4 agains the Columbian.
“Ewan ko. ‘Di ko alam. Dapat bigyan na lang kami ng kotse ng Columbian eh,” said Garcia.
With a 7-3 record, ROS still has a chance of clinching one of the Top Two spots to earn a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.
The E-Painters cap up their elimination round schedule against the Meralco Bolts on March 15.
