Castro puts PBA contract on hold amid offers from 3 Chinese teams
Not one but three Chinese teams are eyeing the services of Asia’s best point guard and Talk ‘N Text star Jayson Castro in multi-million deals.
According to reports, Gilas stalwart Castro has yet to sign another contract with his mother team in the PBA with merely nine days before the start of the Philippine Cup.
One club from the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) is offering the 30-year-old playmaker a staggering $300,000, or nearly P14-million in just three months of playing with the squad.
The agreement does not include won-game bonuses and perks.
Just like the Governor’s Cup, CBA allows one Asian import to play in their three-month long season.
Most notable NBA players who played for the league were Houston Rockets’ Tracy McGrady, Stephon Marbury and Metta World Peace of Los Angeles Lakers. (Alex Cerado)
