Castro, Rosario makes Gilas return vs Iran

TNT Katropa’s Jayson Castro and Troy Rosario were named as one of the 12 players from Gilas Pilipinas who will take on Iran on Monday, December 3, in the fifth window of FIBA Asia World qualifiers at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The TNT duo are set to return with the national team after serving their three-game suspension due to their involvement in an all-out brawl between Gilas and Australia last July.

SMB’s Arwind Santos was also given the chance to don the Pilipinas jersey for the first time in nine years, while fellow Beermen Christian Standhardinger will replace Stanley Pringle as the team’s naturalized player.

The quartet replacements will be joined by mainstays Japeth Aguilar, Beau Belga, June Mar Fajardo, Marcio Lassiter, Gabe Norwood, LA Tenorio, Scottie Thompson, and Matthew Wright.

Meanwhile, Alex Cabagnot and Poy Erram missed the cut this time while Greg Slaughter was also bound to be replaced after their 88-92 loss against Kazakhstan on Friday.
