Cavitex, Barangay Ginebra, and guest team Wilcon Depot each secured a place in the PBA 3X3 Season 3 Leg 6 quarterfinals by posting two victories each on Monday at Ayala Malls Trinoma.
The three-peat-seeking Braves’ Jorey Napoles, Dom Fajardo, Tonino Gonzaga, and Bong Galanza kicked off their bid after ruling the previous fourth and fifth stops with a 17-13 victory against Blackwater Smooth Razor.
They followed it up with a 19-17 verdict against Leg 3 winner TNT Triple Giga in the battle for the No. 1 seed in the three-team group.
Pool A No. 2 Triple Giga (1-1) joined Cavitex in the KO rounds, gaining from their earlier 21-16 demolition of winless Blackwater (0-2).
Meanwhile, Wilcon tallied back-to-back romps over Leg 5 runner-up Pioneer Elastoseal, 18-11, and Meralco, 19-15, to establish a lead in Pool B.
The Bolts (2-1) followed Wilcon to the Last-8 with a 22-12 beating of the Katibays. This result gave Purefoods (1-1) a free trip to the next stage with a game to spare in the eliminations while eliminating Pioneer (0-3).
The Gin Kings, rulers of Legs 1 and 2, stamped their class over San Miguel Beer, 21-12, and Terrafirma, 21-15, in Pool C.
NorthPort (1-1), the Dyip (1-2), and the Beermen (1-2) await the result of Tuesday’s elimination windup to determine which two will join Ginebra.
