CADIZ CITY -– Sizzling Generika-Ayala crushed Sta. Lucia, 25-12, 25-23, 28-15, to claim its third straight win in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference at the Cadiz City Arena here.

Riding the crest of their back-to-back wins, the Lifesavers pounced on the Lady Realtors right from the get go en route to an impressive victory in this prestigious women’s tourney bankrolled by Team Rebel Sports, SOGO, Eurotel, PCSO, Cocolife, UCPB Gen, Mueller, Senoh, Asics, Bizooku and One Sport.

Sta. Lucia sprung back to life and seized control in second and third frames, but Generika-Ayala unleashed strong finishing kicks to seal the victory.

With the win, the Lifesavers climbed to the second spot with idle Petron with an identical 3-1 cards.

“We had a strong start but we struggled in the second and third sets. Good thing was, the girls hung tough and completed those comebacks,” said head coach Sherwin Meneses, looking forward to another out-of-town match against Cignal this Thursday in Silay City.

“It was good to notch our third straight win. We’re already improving so we just hope we could sustain it against Cignal.”

Fiola Ceballos finished with 10 points on 10 kills while team captain Angeli Araneta and Patty Orendain chipped in nine and eight points, respectively, for a well-balanced Generika attack.

Libero Kath Arado was also instrumental with 18 excellent digs and five excellent receptions while Jamie Isabelle Lavitoria set the pace with 15 excellent sets.
