Chicago Bulls Officially Signs Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo Anthony is now officially part of the Chicago Bulls after a trade deal with the Houston Rockets on Wednesday (Manila time).

The deal involved the draft rights of Bulls’ forward Tadija Dragicevic to be sent to Houston in exchange for Anthony, draft rights to guard Jon Diebler and cash considerations.

Veteran forward Anthony and the Rockets went their separate ways mid-November, having played only 10 games for his former team. He averaged 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds for the Rockets.

However, the 10-time All-Star player will most likely not play for the Bulls. The team will either try to trade his expiring contract before the Feb. 7 deadline or else waive him.

The Bulls will acquire $900,000 in cash, while the Rockets will have less luxury-tax bill. (Janiel Abby Toralba)
