Before her stint in the Women’s Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA), Jack Animam faces a tough task as she is set to lead the Gilas Pilipinas women’s team in the upcoming William Jones Cup.
Animam just signed a deal with the Wuhan Shengfan Professional Basketball Club of the WCBA, making her the league’s first import in four years.
In a report from GMA Integrated News, Animam said that she will join the Chinese squad in September.
For now, her focus is the Jones Cup, which will be held from August 5 to 9.
Joining Animam on the Gilas roster are Afril Bernardino, Janine Pontejos, Andrea Tongco, Sofia Roman, Jhazmin Joson, Louna Ozar, Monique Del Carmen, Stefanie Beberabe, Gabi Bade, and first-time national team members Malia Bambrick and Kacey Dela Rosa.
Gilas women will face Chinese Taipei-A, Chinese Taipei-B, Japan, and Korea in the Jones Cup. (MJD)
