The Choco Mucho Flying Titans overwhelmed the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, 25-20, 26-24, and 25-15, to take seventh place in the Premier Volleyball League Invitational on Saturday at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
Caitlyn Viray spearheaded the offense with 22 points, including three blocks and two aces, while her fellow former Thomasian Cherry Rondina added 15 markers for the Flying Titans.
Cherry Nunag contributed six hits, while Isa Molde and Maddie Madayag made five points apiece for the Flying Titans, which edged the Crossovers in the spikes department, 47-33.
“It’s an important win, a big confidence booster for the Third Conference,” said Choco Mucho coach Dante Alinsunurin.
“We had a slow start, but I reminded them to communicate and make the adjusments. Good thing they did, and we won,” he added.
Mylene Paat finished with 15 points, while Pauline Gaston and Ejiya Laure combined for 23 points for the Crossovers, which ended in eighth place despite their powerhouse recruits in the offseason.
