Chot Reyes clarified the viral post-game moment involving Bol Bol, saying the TNT import’s decision to skip a media interview was rooted in personality and adjustment.
Speaking in an interview on The Scorecard of Bilyonaryo News Channel, Reyes said Bol is naturally reserved and still adapting to a new environment.
“He really doesn’t like media attention. He’s a very private, very shy person,” Reyes said.
Clips circulating online showed Bol declining a post-game interview, which drew mixed reactions from fans. But Reyes stressed that the situation should not be misinterpreted.
“This is his first time outside the country. Everything is new to him, not just basketball, but culturally,” he added.
TNT management earlier echoed the same sentiment, describing the 7-foot-3 import as introverted and more comfortable letting his game speak for itself.
Within the team, the focus remains on helping Bol adjust both on and off the court as he settles into life in the PBA. (Jesus Nathaniel Valdez)
