Chris Ross praises Letran’s ‘gutsy’ performance

When it comes to championship games, everyone should listen to Chris Ross’ opinion.

The San Miguel guard was spotted watching the championship between Letran Knights and San Beda Red Lions.

As for the Letran-San Beda’s decisive Game 3 matchup, Ross gave it a two-thumbs up.

“Great game. This is what you want in a do-or-die game — down to the last possessions where both teams scrapped, and Letran made more plays than San Beda,” he said.

In the end, it was Letran who dethroned San Beda to take home the NCAA Season 95 basketball crown.

The scrappy athlete commended San Beda’s effort, despite failing short in capturing the title.

“But San Beda had the heart of the champions where they were down by double figure, one in the fourth, they made it a game. but Letran showed hard and then put it all out in the end,” Ross stated.

Ross, who had an awesome experience in Tuesday’s final NCAA duel, took his seat at the Letran side in MOA Arena and supported all the way until the final buzzer.

“These guys are gutsy. They’re physical like, the Letran style, they always play physical and play together,” he shared.

Ross knows a thing or two on how to win championships — considering that he won eight overall rings with the San Miguel Beermen and he was also hailed as two-time Finals MVP.

Which is why Ross had nothing but praise for the Letran squad who played very well in the Finals.

“Three guards (Balanza, Batiller, and Yu) are just killers today, they’re amazing. Their bigs also played well on their part. It was a total team effort and it was a gutsy performance,” he admitted.
