Chris Tiu confirms retirement from PBA

After a six solid years in Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), Chris Tiu finally called it quits on Tuesday.

This announcement was made official on the 33-year-old guard’s Twitter account.

“My heartfelt gratitude to every person who has been part of my basketball journey!! Most especially to our Lord who makes all things possible ๐Ÿ™,” Tiu tweeted.

“Itโ€™s now time to move on. My heart is full. #17 signing off…,”

The 2012 seventh overall pick played his entire career with the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.

Although Tiu’s retirement was already speculated a few months ago, fans still took time to express their gratitude and respect to him once again on social media.

Even some of Tiu’s colleagues and other public figures expressed their appreciation.

Tiu played his last game in 2018 Governors’ Cup where he registered a career-high 30 points against NLEX Road Warriors which resulted in a 107-101 win.

Tiu also garnered few accolades in PBA where he was included in the All-Rookie Team and won the All-Star 3-Point Shootout in 2013. He also won a championship with Elasto Painters in 2016 Commissioners’ Cup.
