Cignal regained its composure just in time to blast Sta. Lucia, 20-25, 25-10, 25-20, 25-10, in the Belo-Philippine Superliga (PSL) Invitational Conference Saturday at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center in Malolos.

The HD Spikers got an all-around performance from Rachel Anne Daquis and Honey Royse Tubino in the deciding set to wrap-up the game.

With the win, Cignal avenged its five-set setback to Petron last Thursday at now sport a 2-1 win-loss card.

Daquis unleashed seven kills, three aces and two blocks for 12 points while Tubino contributed 11 markers for Cignal.

“We managed to cut down our errors unlike last game,” said Cignal coach George Pascua, who admitted that their target is to make into the semis of this short tournament.

“We have a very good chance of making it to the top three. We just need to work hard and treat each game as if it’s a championship match.”

The Lady Realtors took the opening set, thanks to 6-foot-1 Lourdes Clemente and hard-hitting Rachel Austero for their superb attack.

But the HD Spikers slowly showed their power to turn a 16-all deadlock into a 24-18 lead to capture the third set and never looked back. (Axel Roman)
