After seeing Alyssa Valdez slowly return to her form, Cignal HD Spikers head coach Ceseal delos Santos knew that it would take more than a near-perfect game for them to upset Creamline Cool Smashers.
According to the veteran mentor, he wants his players to just enjoy their Premier Volleyball League Invitational semifinal game against the defending champions, the Cool Smashers, on Saturday.
“I-enjoy lang namin ‘yung game namin (vs Creamline),” Delos Santos said. “Kasi syempre makakalaban mo ‘yung defending champion, so ‘di ba? Minsan lang yan, so kailangan maenjoy namin.”
Valdez showed on Thursday evening that she is close to full recovery after tallying a conference-high 17 points in the Cool Smashers’ five-set win over the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers.
But, aside from Valdez, also making their contributions for Creamline are Jessica Galanza, Diana Carlos, Celine Domingo, Julia Morado-de Guzman, Jeanette Panaga, and Risa Sato.
“Talagang grabe ‘yung team nila,” Delos Santos exclaimed. “Mag-all out kami, alam naman din namin kung ano yung kailangan naming gawin to give them a good fight.”
“Mas itataas namin ‘yung level ng laro namin lalo na sa Creamline, and siguro mas maging consistent lang kami sa lahat ng gagawin namin,” he added.
The HD Spikers came off a straight-set win over sister team PLDT High Speed Hitters last Thursday to kick off the single-round robin semifinals.
