Clark to Host Gilas Pilipinas Games in 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifier in February
Following its successful hosting of the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup, Clark was chosen to host the bubble for the February window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers.
In an announcement by the FIBA on Friday, the country was chosen to host the Group A matches between Gilas Pilipinas Indonesia, Thailand and South Korea.
Among the three teams in the group, the national men’s basketball team, which will likely parade PBA players, is set to tangle with Indonesia and South Korea.
The Gilas Pilipinas currently has 3-0 record after winning over Indonesia last February and against Thailand twice last month. They only need a win to formalize its entry to the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup.
Apart from Group A, Clark, Pampanga will also play hosts to matches in Group C involving Australia, New Zealand, Guam and Hong Kong.
