Filipino-American NBA guard Jordan Clarkson showed his support for Filipina tennis star Alexandra Eala ahead of her campaign at the US Open in New York.

Clarkson shared a photo of himself with Eala on his Instagram story, accompanied by a short message wishing the 21-year-old tennis star good luck in the Grand Slam tournament.

“Keep being special twin, goodluck!! Kill it!” the New York Knicks guard wrote, tagging Eala and adding a Philippine flag emoji.

The two Filipino sports stars crossed paths in New York as Eala prepares for the US Open, where she is seeded No. 17 in the women’s singles draw.

Eala earned the highest Grand Slam seeding of her career after a breakthrough season on the WTA Tour.

Clarkson, meanwhile, is returning for another season with reigning NBA champions Knicks after recently agreeing to a contract extension.

The interaction between the two Filipino sports figures quickly drew attention from fans online, with Clarkson’s post highlighting the growing support for Eala as she continues to make history on the international tennis stage. (Adrian Co)
