Coach Aaron Velez, setter Angelica Legacion receive blame from Chery Tiggo fans for loss to PLDT

The supporters of the Chery Tiggo Crossovers placed the blame for their 25-21, 16-25, 25-23, 25-27, and 15-12 defeat to the PLDT High Speed Hitters on the endgame substitution made by head coach Aaron Velez.

During the fifth set, with the Crossovers trailing 12–13, head coach Aaron Velez made a surprising substitution by replacing Mylene Paat and Joyme Cagande with Angelica Legacion and Roselle Baliton. Paat and Cagande had both contributed crucial points in the set.

Legacion, who entered the game from the bench, became the target of the High Speed Hitters’ offense, particularly Dell Palomata and Mean Mendrez, as they scored the final two points of the match to secure their upset win over the Crossovers.

The powerhouse Crossovers, with the loss, have been eliminated from playoff contention and are now relegated to the consolation round.
