CONVERGE FiberXers head coach Dennis “Delta” Pineda urged the team’s supporters to remain patient as the franchise continues to rebuild and search for consistency.
Pineda acknowledged that Converge has gone through another difficult stretch in finding the right reinforcement, with the team already on its third import this season.
“Sa fans naman po ng Converge, medyo pagpasensyahan nyo na po kami kung (nagkamali) tayo dun sa sitwasyon na pagpipili po ng import,” Pineda said in an interview with sports insider Homer Sayson.
He noted that the FiberXers also struggled to find the right import last season, describing their search as a matter of bad luck.
Pineda, however, believes Cameron Clark has provided a significant upgrade compared with the team’s first two imports this conference.
“Pero right now, kahit kayo po siguro pwedeng nyo sabihin na malaking difference itong si Clark compared dun sa first two import po natin,” he said.
The Converge coach appealed to fans to continue supporting the team as it works through its rebuilding process.
“Sana huwag muna kayo lumipat ng ibang team. Tuloy nyo pa rin yung paniniwala nyo po sa Converge,” Pineda said.
He added that the team shares the fans’ desire to see the FiberXers win, but stressed that building a competitive team cannot be accomplished overnight.
“For us, kung kayo gusto nyo pong manalo, mas lalo po kami, mas gusto po namin manalo para sa inyo,” he said.
Pineda also pointed out that Converge cannot simultaneously complete its rebuilding process and immediately compete for a championship.
“Hindi lang po natin pwedeng pagsabay-sabayin lahat. Yung pag-rebuild ng team, pagkuha ng championship o anuman yung pagkuha ng role natin, hindi po natin pwedeng pagsabay-sabayin po,” he said. “It will take time.” (Adrian Co)
