Coach LA? Tenorio now part of Letran Knights think-tank
By Miles Morales
Ginebra star point guard LA Tenorio is already venturing into coaching duties at 34 years old.
The veteran playmaker is now part of the coaching staff of newly-minted Letran head coach Bonnie Tan.
The two-time PBA Finals MVP will join lead assistant Lou Gatumbato, Raymond Tiongco, and RJ Guevara as the team’s staff.
Even before taking on the new mantel as a coach, Tenorio has also put up a basketball academy and has served as a mentor to various youth basketball programs.
Meanwhile, Tenorio could become the PBA’s newest “Iron Man” on March 17 when Ginebra faces Magnolia at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
All Tenorio needs is to avoid getting injured that may prevent him from surpassing the mark of Alvin Patrimonio, now the Hotshots’ team manager.
Tenorio played his 594th straight game on Saturday when the Kings thrashed the Blackwater Elite, 85-67, at the Davao del Sur Coliseum in Digos City.
