Codiñera resigns as Arellano Chiefs’ coach

By Erel Cabatbat

Jerry Codinera’s tenure with the Arellano Chiefs is over.

The PBA legend resigned as head coach after the underperforming Chiefs fell to a 4-7 win loss slate.

Codiñera has compiled a 52-31 win loss record after guiding the Chiefs in more than four years.

We was able to bring Arellano in the NCAA Finals in 2013 and 2015.

The Chiefs, however, failed to live up as one of the pre-tournament favorites due to inconsistency.

According to the Legarda-based school, Junjie Ablan will temporarily take over manning the Chiefs’ bench.

Ablan will make his second stint as Arellano’s head coach. Ablan helmed the team in 2009.
