Cone compares potent Brownlee-Pringle duo to Warriors’ Durant-Curry tandem
Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone sees the combination of Justin Brownlee and Stanley Pringle similar to Golden State Warriors’ Kevin Durant and Steph Curry.
Pringle was acquired by Ginebra in a trade that sent Sol Mercado, Kevin Ferrer, and Jervy Cruz to NorthPort.
The explosive guard made his debut on Sunday against the Road Warriors at the Batangas City Coliseum.
“There is so much to explore in Stanley’s game on what we can do with him and what kind of combination,” said Cone. “That third quarter revolved around Stanley and Justin playing off each other. That wasn’t anything we planned.”
“We expect that more often. If you have two guys like that, it’s like Steph Curry and Kevin Durant. Who do you guard. That’s what we envision,” Cone said.
Brownlee and Pringle formed the one-two punch for Ginebra in their game against NLEX with Brownlee finishing with 37 points and eight rebounds, and Pringle finishing with 16 points and eight rebounds.
