Creamline Easily Beats PLDT, Stays Undefeated in PVL
Creamline Cool Smashers bucked the absence of Jeanette Panaga to score a quick 25-16, 25-12, 25-13 win over PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference on Sunday at the PCV Socio-Civic and Cultural Center in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.
Alyssa Valdez spearheaded the 4-0 Cool Smashers’ offense with 16 points, all on attacks, while Michelle Gumabao submitted nine points, four of which via blocks.
Jessica Galanza contributed 13 excellent digs, nine excellent receptions and eight markers and Julia Morado, meanwhile, had 19 excellent sets on top of her three points for the Cool Smashers
After a tight exchange heading into the second technical timeout, Celine Domingo led the Cool Smashers to a 21-14 advantage in the first set. Jorelle Singh kept PLDT afloat before the Cool Smashers ran away with a 25-16 first-set win capped off by a block.
It was all the Cool Smashers in the second frame as they surged to a 15-5 advantage. The lead later ballooned up to 14 points, 21-7, before sealing the 2-0 advantage at 25-12.
Creamline continued its assault in the third with a 16-8 advantage to enter the second technical timeout. Diana Carlos gave the Cool Smashers their biggest lead of the set at 10, 21-11, before Pau Soriano and Rizza Mandapat put on the finishing touches.
Maria Lina Molde finished with seven points, while Maria Shola Alvarez added five markers as the Power Hitters continued its slide down the standings with a 0-4 record.
